Subspecies

There`s five different types of cheetahs but their differences are very small.Here`s the five types of cheetahs.The Acinonyx jubatus jubatus, the type subspecies, from southern Africa,the hecki, the West African cheetah.The raineyii, from East Africa.The soemmeringii, from Central Asia. (probably extinct) Last but not least the venaticus, from southwest Asia and India.

History

The cheetah name was originated from the hindu name chita which means '' spotted one". Cheetahs have been pets for the mogul and egyptian empires for thousands of years.Cheetahs are in many works of art such as mosaics,urnes,paintings and many more.

Where they live

Cheetahs live in many different places like Africa,southwest Asia,India and Iran.

Cheetahs are about 5 feet long and when running they can stride 7 meters. Did you know cheetahs can run up to 100mph! Thats as fast as a racecar!

Fast but with a cacth

Cheetahs have camouflage skin so when they go hunting they dont waste their energy chasing their prey.Cheetahs may be fast but they can only run for short burst.

Cubs

When a female cheetah has a litter she leaves them in a shaded place so predators dont eat them but normally only a few survive.Thats not it the cubs could die from diesese or not getting enough to eat.
